Memory Verse:
Proverbs 7:2-3
Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.
Inspirations:
"Stay rooted in God's Word, and you will find strength to resist the allure of worldly desires."
Prophetic word:
seek wisdom and discernment. God's truth will guide you and protect you from harm.
Prayer Points:
1. Pray for the wisdom to keep and guard God's commands and teachings as precious treasures.
2. Ask God to protect your heart from the ways of temptation and to help you stay on the path of righteousness.
3. Pray for discernment to recognize and avoid situations and people that may lead you astray.
4. Seek God's strength to resist the allure of worldly desires and to stay committed to His ways.
5. Pray for the grace to forgive yourself and receive God's forgiveness if you have fallen into temptation in the past.
Guarding Your Heart
Guarding one's heart should be one of the first things a believer must do in this world, because if you don't, you may be quickly led into all kinds of temptations and offences, keeping God's commands and teachings as precious treasures that we cannot afford to throw away. How many mothers will bathe their baby in a bowl and throw their baby in the dirty water? It's not done because the baby is more valuable to them, so also is the word of God.
Wisdom is the key to discerning right from wrong and guarding our hearts against temptation. As believers, we are called to stay rooted in God's Word and seek His wisdom in all areas of our lives.
In these endtimes, there is a great need to guard our hearts and avoid the paths that lead us astray. Through prayer, seeking God's guidance, and staying accountable to fellow believers, we can develop the strength to resist temptation and make choices that honour God.
Even if we have fallen into temptation in the past, God's grace and forgiveness are available to us. We can seek His strength to overcome our weaknesses and find restoration in Him.
