DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TUESDAY, JUNE 27, 2023

Memory Verse:

"The Lord said, 'Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.' Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper."

1 Kings 19:11-12

Inspirations:

"Be a person of integrity, for your character will be tested in the fires of adversity."

Prophetic word:

Those who have been seeking directions, I prophesy you will hear the voice of God today, in Jesus name.

  2. Ask God to help you maintain integrity and resist the temptations of evil influences.

  3. Pray for the strength to withstand adversity and remain faithful to God's calling.

  4. Seek God's guidance and direction in making decisions, just as Elijah sought guidance from Him.

The Voice of God

A lot of people pray to God, but they don't hear from God, not because God is not responding to their prayers, but they can't hear because of the inability of recognizing the voice of God or even the Language of God. God Speaks to us daily, the question is are we actually listening to hear God, or our emotions is draining out his voice when he speaks.

Elijah's encounter with God on the mountain teaches us that God often speaks in whispers. In the midst of chaos, we must seek solitude and stillness to discern His voice.

God's reaction is never of Fear, panic or disbelief, so when God is speaking don't expect to hear anything relating to your fears.

Many times I have gone to God with a burden, and God's voice to me has nothing to do with my problems; rather, he gives me an assignment, and when I begin that assignment, my panic or fear dissolves into thin air, I get clarity, and my heart is filled with joy. So your expectation of the responses of God can actually block you from hearing God's Whisper. Just as God guided Elijah, He desires to guide us through the storms of life. We must be attentive to His whispers and trust in His leading.
