“The Prayer of a Righteous Person
is Powerful & Effective.”
- James 5:16b [NIV]
- Have I made a conscious, daily choice to be part of God’s family? Do I have Jesus
as Lord of my life in a practical way - not just as a religious belief?
- Do I really believe in God’s love and goodness, in His integrity to His Word? It
is faith that pleases God (Hebrews 11:6).
- Am I basing my prayers on scriptural promises as best I can?
- Am I having a daily quiet time with God that is as long as my television time or
my computer time?
- Am I hanging out with and listening to people who are positive - People who honor
God, believe in His goodness, who encourage me to connect to God and trust Him?
- Am I being holy? How are my television and movie viewing choices? Music selections?
- Am I being obedient? Obedience in my chosen profession and life’s work, or my daily
choices and activities?
- Am I being forgiving?
- Am I facing the worst case scenario and saying I will still love and trust God?
- Am I seeking first the kingdom of God in my life?
- Am I giving generously to God’s work? [Tithes and Offerings to Churches & Ministries]
- Is there anything more important than God in my life?
- Do I stand up for God and His values in front of others or do I avoid looking too
religious or too conservative out of not wanting to look bad?
- Do I want God as long as it doesn’t interfere with my own personal lifestyle and
activities?
- Have I asked God what He wants in this particular situation?
- Do I take God’s Word seriously? Do I read it, study it, honor it; even if I don’t
always understand it?
