Being confident that God will help us is not automatic.  Even if we say, "I know God is all-powerful," we may still feel unsure if His power will work for us in our particular situation.  Listed below are scriptures to build up our faith and confidence that God's power will be available for us.


 Read them out loud to convince yourself that God is able and that He willing to help you.  These scriptures can then be used to shape our prayer, so that we are praying according to what God has already promised.

 

Power of God Scriptures

Mark 9:23                 “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”


Romans 8:11             And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.


Ephesians 1:17-20    I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.


Philippians 4:13        I can do everything through him who gives me strength.


2 Tim. 1:7                  For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-

          discipline.


Eph. 3:20,21              Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!  Amen.


Romans 1: 16,17       I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.  For in the gospel a righteous from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written, “The righteous will live by faith.”


Romans 4:20,21       Yet Abraham did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.


Romans 15:13          May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.


1 Corinthians 1:18    For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved is the power of God.


1 Corinthians 6:14    By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.


Acts 1:8                      But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.


Luke 24:19                 “What things?” he asked.  “About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied.  “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.


1 Thess. 1: 3-5           We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.  For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction.  You know how we lived among you for your sake.


2 Peter 1:3                His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.


Revelation 5:12        In a loud voice they sang, “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”


Revelation 19:1         After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.”


Psalm 66:3                 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!  So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you."


Psalm 68: 34-55       Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the skies.  You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.  Praise be to God!


Psalm 147:5              Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.


Proverbs 18:21         The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.


Proverbs 24:5           A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength;


Jeremiah 10:6           No one is like you, O Lord; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.
